I love to read about what is going on out there in the internet shopping world. Forester research put these numbers out in regards to the holiday spending season of 2007: US online retail sales this holiday season will reach $33 billion. That’s a lot of spending! They also are reporting that 11% of online consumers said they’d do seventy five percent, timesuport or more, of their total holiday spending online. The number of online shoppers is also increasing, 30.2% of consumers will do their shopping online this year compared to 28.9% in 2006. Why are the numbers going up so steadily? Well, 55% of consumers agree that they shop online due to choice of products.

How do people decide where to spend their money on the internet? “According to a global Nielsen survey of 26,486 Internet users in 47 markets, consumer recommendations are the most credible form of advertising among 78% of the study’s respondents. So what do all these numbers and facts mean? People are doing more shopping on the internet all the time. They are becoming savvy about research. Word of mouth is still important and apparently shoppers do not even need to know one another personally to appreciate their review.
